As incredible as it may seem, even today, when visiting clients in different towns seeking to make the leap to renewables, we hear the exact same fearful question: «But if I put all this stuff up... will the State charge me for using the sunlight?».

The end of a restrictive era

The short, resounding answer is NO. What was popularly known as the "Sun Tax" (protected under ancient legislation that taxed self-produced energy to disincentivize grassroots solar growth) was totally and absolutely repealed several years ago via a set of sweeping new directives that forcefully kicked off in 2019 (Royal Decree 244/2019).

The paradigm shift is absolute. The current legislation in our country has not only completely stripped away any toll or punitive tax dumped onto the kilowatts generated from your rooftop; it actually rewards you.

The State backs burden-free self-consumption and allows you to happily sell your surplus energy to the power grid or store it locally. Far from being watched or penalized, you have pivoted into being heavily supported through European regulations, grants, and tax exemptions. Do not allow the shadow of obsolete laws to curb your soaring monthly savings.
